Ariana Madix's Broadway Debut in 'Chicago': A Dream Unveiled

Breaking the news with sheer excitement, the 38-year-old star shared on Live With Kelly and Mark, "I have some news. As of January 29, I will be taking on the role of Roxie Hart on Broadway in Chicago. It is just the biggest dream come true. I can’t believe this is real life. I’m going to cry."

Mark your calendars, as Madix's stint is set to captivate audiences for a two-month run until March 24, 2024, as confirmed by Chicago’s official Instagram account.

Originally gracing the stages of New York City in 1975, Chicago unfolds the gripping tale of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, entangled in a murder trial while vying for the legal representation of the infamous Billy Flynn.

Madix's announcement follows hot on the heels of her dazzling performance on the Dancing With the Stars Season 32 finale, where she and her pro partner, Pasha Pashkov, clinched the third-place spot, trailing behind the runner-ups Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach, and the ultimate champions Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy.

Expressing her gratitude, Madix took to Instagram on Tuesday, December 5, to share her sentiments about the DWTS journey, saying, "I am so beyond grateful for this experience and the family that I’ve met during this process. Every contestant, every pro, every person on the crew, every judge. I wish I could put into words what this has meant. This place and this show is magic."

But Madix's journey to the Broadway stage wasn't an overnight sensation. Long before her stint on DWTS and rise to Bravo reality TV stardom, her heart beat for the performing arts. Having studied theater in college and even donned the costume character hat at Disney World, Broadway was her childhood dream.

"I’m having the best time. If I could do rehearsals and performances every day for the rest of my life, I’d be happy. I find it so rewarding and fun," Madix exclusively shared in her Us Weekly cover story in October. However, she doesn't shy away from acknowledging the challenges, particularly the toll it takes on her body. "Regardless of being in shape or not, you’re not dancing in heels every day. That starts to affect you in ways you didn’t expect. [It’s] intense — I spend a lot of time icing my feet at home."

Reflecting on her transformation, she added, "If you were to put me in my samba outfit three months ago and say, ‘OK, go have lunch in this on Vanderpump Rules,’ I would’ve been really self-conscious. But I’m focused more on what I’m doing and less on how I look, and that’s different for sure."

Ariana Madix's journey to Broadway is not just a debut; it's a testament to passion, hard work, and the realization of a childhood dream. Get ready to witness Roxie Hart like never before as she takes center stage in Chicago!
