'DWTS' Triumph: Xochitl Gomez & Val Chmerkovskiy Reflect on Securing Season 32 Victory
Dancing
with the Stars concluded its exhilarating 32nd season by proclaiming Xochitl
Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy as the reigning champions. Through their
consistently outstanding performances, the inevitable culmination of success
unfolded for the dynamic duo, with 17-year-old Xochitl and 37-year-old Val
basking in the glory of securing the prestigious Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
In the
immediate aftermath of the grand finale, Val expressed his sentiments to
Entertainment Tonight, describing the triumph as a "huge honor."
Reflecting on Len's legacy as a ballroom dance champion, Val emphasized the
significance of holding the trophy in Len's honor, underscoring his commitment
to propelling ballroom dance into the spotlight and millions of households. He
shared his motivation, stating, "I was very much motivated by the idea of
passing my ballroom education and torch to this young, incredible talent. And I
think that Len would have been proud of that."
Xochitl,
visibly elated, poured out her appreciation for the support received throughout
her DWTS journey. "We've had so much love, from everyone, to the crew and
to the cast and then people outside of just fans, you know? It's just been so
much love," the 17-year-old enthused. "And that is what made me
really love this whole experience."
A day after
the climactic finale, Xochitl and Val made an appearance on Good Morning
America, where the Marvel star candidly admitted, "I didn't think that I'd
make it this far." Val playfully interjected, adding, "Which is kind
of disrespectful to me as her professional partner, but it's okay." The
exchange prompted laughter, with Xochitl rolling her eyes in good humor.
