A Night to Remember: George and Amal Clooney Shine at Seattle Screening of "The Boys in the Boat"
Amal
Clooney stands proudly by her husband George Clooney's side, offering
unwavering support at the Seattle screening of his latest directorial
masterpiece, "The Boys in the Boat."
Dressed in
impeccable style, Amal, a distinguished human-rights attorney at 45, graces the
event in a captivating red sequinned midi dress from the renowned fashion house
16Arlington. Completing her look are silver, pointed-toe pumps and a dazzling
gold clutch.
Meanwhile,
the two-time Academy Award winner, George, 62, exudes charm in an open gray
coat draped over a navy turtleneck. His coordinating slacks complement the
ensemble as he warmly holds his wife's hand throughout the evening.
Having
exchanged vows in the romantic city of Venice, Italy, in September 2014, the
power couple went on to welcome twins Alexander and Ella, now aged 6.
This
dynamic duo continued to captivate audiences across the globe, making a
glamorous appearance in London for another screening of "The Boys in the
Boat." Amal, with her hair gracefully down, adorned a figure-hugging
velvet gown, while George radiated sophistication in a dark suit and crisp
white shirt.
The couple
graciously engaged with fans, signing autographs and posing alongside the
movie's stars Joel Edgerton, Callum Turner, and Bruce Herbelin-Earle.
"The
Boys in the Boat" intricately weaves the inspiring true story of the 1936
University of Washington men's crew team. Rising from the shadows of the
college's second-tier rowing team, they embark on an improbable journey to
represent the United States at the Summer Olympics in Berlin.
"This
inspirational true story follows a group of underdogs at the height of the
Great Depression as they are thrust into the spotlight and take on elite rivals
from around the world," reads the official synopsis.
In an
exclusive behind-the-scenes video shared with PEOPLE in October, George
commended the real-life rowing team as true underdogs who astonished the world
with their Olympic triumph. The team's victory in Berlin, narrowly beating
Italy and Germany, unfolded in the presence of Adolf Hitler, as recounted in a
2012 Slate article.
"These
guys at the University of Washington take on the seniors, and then taking on
the fraternity kids, and then taking on the Nazis," reflected the
director. "Every film we've ever seen that has an underdog in it, you're
always rooting for them, that you can pull yourself up from nothing and
succeed."
The stellar
cast, including Joel Edgerton, Callum Turner, Peter Guinness, Jack Mulhern,
James Wolk, Hadley Robinson, Courtney Henggeler, Sam Strike, Thomas Elms, Luke
Slattery, Bruce Herbelin-Earle, Wil Coban, Thomas Stephen Varey, and Chris
Diamantopoulos, contributes to the film's compelling narrative.
"The
Boys in the Boat" is set to grace theaters on Dec. 25, promising audiences
a riveting cinematic experience. Join George and Amal Clooney on this
unforgettable journey of triumph, resilience, and the indomitable human spirit.
