SNL Unveils Hilarious Musical Sketch: Kate McKinnon, Billie Eilish, and Guests Celebrate the Tampon Harvest
In a musical masterpiece reminiscent of feminist country
folk rock, SNL's latest gem, "Tampon Farm," brings together the
incredible talents of Kate McKinnon, Billie Eilish, and other special guests
for an unforgettable performance that's as unique as it is entertaining.
The enchanting spectacle kicks off with SNL alum and guest
host Kate McKinnon strumming an acoustic guitar, serenading us with tales of a
resilient Midwestern farmer woman on a tractor (featuring the special guest
appearance of Maya Rudolph, who also graced the monologue and another sketch).
The lyrics seamlessly transition to celebrate Kristen Wiig, this week's
additional guest, clad in burlap with beads of sweat on her brow. The wind
tousles McKinnon's hair, evoking the essence of classic country songs that pay
homage to hardworking individuals toiling the land.
However, the twist comes when it's unveiled that the bounty
of their labor is none other than tampons, grown and harvested like corn.
Remarkably, the song maintains its upbeat tempo, focusing on themes of hope,
wisdom, and the resilience of farm life, albeit with a humorous twist.
The video showcases the cast sorting tampons into Light,
Regular, and Super baskets, their sun-kissed skin radiating as they pluck them
from the soil and shake them from trees – all while skillfully playing guitars.
Even musical sensation Billie Eilish joins the festivities, proudly displaying
her bumper crop.
Despite the inevitable failure of this utopian venture –
apparently, a tampon farm isn't a sustainable business model – the sketch
remains a triumph. After all, when you have three of the finest voices in SNL
history, it's only fitting that they sing about the unconventional topic of
menstrual products.
As of now, SNL has yet to release any clips or the full
video for "Tampon Farm" 🤨. In the meantime,
indulge in the highlights of this week's episode, hosted by the incomparable
McKinnon and featuring the musical prowess of Eilish.
