Experience the Vibrancy of London's New Year's Day Parade with Dancers, Inflatables, and Marching Bands
Since its
inception in 1987, London's New Year's Day Parade has become a cherished
tradition, captivating the city streets while half the population recovers from
New Year's Eve celebrations. Drawing performers from around the globe, the
parade has evolved into a spectacular event, attracting up to a million
spectators who eagerly line the route for a glimpse of the festivities.
When and Where
The
excitement unfolds promptly at noon on January 1, continuing until
approximately 3:30 pm. The starting point is near Green Park station on
Piccadilly, outside the iconic Ritz. From there, the procession meanders down
Piccadilly, passing through Piccadilly Circus, and winding its way along Regent
Street and St James's before concluding at Westminster, just shy of Parliament
Square.
Who's Taking the Stage
Prepare to
be enthralled by a diverse array of performers, both local and international.
The lineup boasts the talents of Chesney Hawkes, complemented by the
mesmerizing performances of London's Chinese Community featuring dancing
dragons, lions, and dynamic Chinese drummers. Adding to the spectacle are stunt
performers from Moto-Stunts International and towering inflatables. Notably, a
dozen American marching bands will inject a lively rhythm into the festivities.
