Blake Lively Commemorates Two Decades of Friendship with America Ferrera After the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Reunion

Blake Lively, the 36-year-old Gossip Girl star, took to Instagram to mark 20 years of friendship with America Ferrera, the Ugly Betty alum. The celebration unfolded at a special screening organized by SAG-AFTRA in New York City, honoring Ferrera's role in the Barbie movie, and saw the reunion of their Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel.

Capturing the essence of their enduring bond, Lively shared a carousel of photos from the event, expressing joy in celebrating her "denim sister" Ferrera. In the Instagram caption, Lively lauded Ferrera, stating, "She's the heart and soul of @barbiethemovie because she's the heart and soul of everything she's a part of."

 

Reflecting on their two-decade friendship since Lively was 16, she detailed, "I've watched her live, grow, soar, fall, make, break, push, fight, win, create, forge, disrupt, way make, lead, lead, lead." Lively also paid homage to Ferrera's impactful Barbie monologue in the movie, describing it as feeling "as close to real as anything I've ever seen on screen."

 

Concluding her heartfelt tribute, Lively expressed anticipation for Ferrera's future successes, affirming, "It's one of my life's honors to witness her show so many women not only what's possible, but HOW it's done. I love you sister. Always." And in a nod to their 2005 film, she added, "Pants = Love. Love your sisters. Love yourself."

 

Ferrera reciprocated the affection, commenting, "🥹 When your girl gives good hype. I love you forever sis. 🥹 💕."

 

The shared images showcased a casual selfie of Lively and Ferrera with Tamblyn and Bledel, capturing the camaraderie that has endured over the years. Alongside the heartwarming clip, she expressed her love for the women, stating, "The sisterhood came through all in pink to celebrate my performance in Barbie last night. I love these women with all my heart."
