Discovering the Lives of Eugene Levy's Children, Dan and Sarah Levy

Eugene Levy, renowned for his comedic talent, found humor in both his career and parenting journey. Married to screenwriter and producer Deborah Divine since 1977, the couple raised their two children, Dan and Sarah, in Toronto away from the glitz of showbiz, following a disciplined parenting approach.

While Eugene emphasized setting boundaries for his kids, he fondly shared that as they grew older, their sense of humor blossomed. The comedic synergy within the Levy family reached new heights when they all starred in the beloved series, Schitt’s Creek, from 2015 to 2020. Eugene and Dan portrayed father and son on the show, while Sarah played the local waitress.

 Dan Levy, 40

Born on Aug. 9, 1983, in Toronto, Dan Levy, despite his father's comedic fame, experienced a "normal" upbringing, grounded by homework and parental guidance. Inheriting Eugene's humor, Dan ventured into on-camera career hosting MTV’s After Show for The Hills in 2006.

Dan faced challenges early in his career, addressing homophobia during his MTV tenure. Following minor acting roles, he joined forces with Eugene to establish Not a Real Company Productions, producing the critically acclaimed Schitt’s Creek. Winning Emmys for acting, writing, and directing, Dan's post-Schitt’s Creek journey includes collaborations with his father, appearances on Saturday Night Live, and co-authoring a book on the show.

Despite his individual success, Dan remains inspired by Eugene’s five-decade career, considering his father a guiding force in navigating the entertainment industry.

 Sarah Levy, 37

Born on Sept. 10, 1986, Sarah, Eugene’s second child, chose an acting career, making her debut in Cheaper by the Dozen 2 alongside her father in 2005. Notably, she portrayed Twyla on Schitt’s Creek, engaging in numerous family conversations about the show around the dinner table.

Post-Schitt’s Creek, Sarah married law student Graham Outerbridge in October 2021, with Dan as the DJ and their parents surprising the guests with a duet at the reception. In May 2022, Sarah announced her pregnancy, welcoming a son, James Eugene Outerbridge, in July the same year.

James’ middle name pays homage to his grandfather Eugene, reflecting the close bond within the Levy family. Sarah expressed that honoring her father in this way was a tradition, emphasizing the significance of family ties.

In summary, Eugene Levy's children, Dan and Sarah, have carved their paths in the entertainment industry while cherishing their family connections. From Dan's successful post-Schitt’s Creek ventures to Sarah’s journey into motherhood, the Levy family continues to make waves both on and off-screen.
